The Pregnant Mom and Chiropractic Care

Going through pregnancy takes a toll on a Mom's spine. The added weight will cause biomechanical changes as the center of gravity constantly shifts.  These changes can very likely cause problems in the spine and may extend to other parts of the body. Low back pain often radiating into the legs is one of the most common symptoms present in pregnant women. Chiropractic care can help relieve the pain and pressures experienced with pregnancy in a manner that is safe and most importantly drug free.

This is after all the real challenge with the care of a pregnant mom.  It is not good for the developing child to be exposed to the pain relievers the uncomfortable mom may take to help alleviate her discomfort.  Chiropractic is a phenomenal alternative to pain killers but what many people don't realize, is that it has also been shown to help with headaches, facilitate proper fetus position, and decrease labor time nearly 25% as the pelvis is aligned in an optimal position to facilitate the birthing process.

In summary chiropractic care can be a great tool for keeping our pregnant moms and their developing babies, healthy, happy, pain free and most importantly drug free.
